Lara Green, A.R.A.D. (Solo Seal)
Born and raised in Sydney, Lara Green trained in all genres of dance from an early age, with teachers such as Janece Graham, Christine Keith and Paul Saliba. Lara has completed all R.A.D. and C.D.A. exams with Honours and is a holder of the prestigious Solo Seal Award. Lara has competed successfully in competitions and scholarships within Australia and overseas, including the Genée Awards in London and the Prix De Lausanne in Switzerland. Following this, she was offered placements with many international schools such as the Royal Ballet, English National Ballet and Hamburg Ballet, and commenced training with the Stuttgart Ballet School.
Lara continued her training at the NZSD, taking extension classes with the Royal New Zealand Ballet Company during this time. Her stage credits include the Australian Ballet, Queensland Ballet, Bolshoi Ballet, Sydney Festival Ballet Company as well as corporate events in Sydney.
In 2004, Lara joined Carnival Cruise Lines as a dancer, spending the subsequent years travelling the world dancing in lead roles and featured adagio work. Lara met her husband whilst working for CCL and they are now settled on the Gold Coast, where Lara has been teaching for the past 5 years. During this time, Lara’s students have earned a reputation for beautiful technique and have achieved excellent results in exams and competitions with her choreography.
Lara believes that today’s dancer should be trained in all genres of dance in their foundation years, and knows that this versatility will assist them in whatever path their dance journey takes.
Lara is committed to passing on her knowledge and passion for dance to the students at Academy Dance Studios.
